About these terms
Clawtraits is a Canadian-operated cat photography gallery. Every cat is a work of art. These terms cover browsing, sharing links and submitting photographs. Read the Privacy Policy and Upload Guidelines too. Submitting requires an explicit agreement to these terms and the guidelines.
Your photograph remains yours
Photographers retain ownership of their photographs. Uploading does not transfer copyright to Clawtraits. Submit only a photograph you took or one for which the copyright owner has authorized you to grant the permissions below. A photo being available online does not make it free to reuse.
A limited permission to operate the gallery
By submitting, you grant Clawtraits a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, resize, optimize, publicly display and distribute the photograph as reasonably necessary to operate this gallery and its ordinary sharing features, including displaying it on its individual photo page and providing a shareable link. This includes using hosting and image-processing providers solely to deliver those functions on Clawtraits’ behalf. The licence covers private processing and moderation before any public display.
The licence lasts while you allow us to host the photograph. You may request removal through Copyright & Removal Requests. After a removal request is actioned, we stop public display and delete active image storage; a limited permission continues only for reasonable technical backup retention and any retention required by law or a valid dispute. Such copies must not be used for a new public display or other purposes. Backup handling and legally necessary retention require operator review; no fixed backup expiry is promised here. The licence is not an irrevocable permission for unrelated uses.
Clawtraits cannot sell your photograph or license it to third parties independently. Including a particular photograph in a separate advertising or promotional campaign requires additional permission from its rights holder. A future ad alongside the gallery does not itself grant advertisers rights in any photograph. Ordinary sharing does not give visitors ownership or permission for unrelated republication.
Processing may change dimensions, compression and format. No general waiver of Canadian moral rights is requested. Credit should be supplied if required; please raise an attribution or integrity concern through the removal contact.
Responsible use and moderation
Follow the Upload Guidelines. Do not infringe rights, invade privacy, submit prohibited material, manipulate likes or evade security controls. Every new submission stays private until human approval. Clawtraits may reject, withhold or delete material for rights, privacy, safety or operational reasons and may restrict abusive submissions. Approval does not certify that all rights have been cleared. There is no entitlement to publication, payment or continued hosting.
Availability, changes and your rights
We aim to provide a useful gallery but cannot promise uninterrupted availability or prevent visitors from saving publicly displayed images. Use the removal process for concerns; copies already downloaded or stored by outside services may remain outside our control. Nothing here excludes a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Updated terms will be published with a new version; new upload acceptance records will identify that version. Changes do not silently expand the rights granted for an earlier submission.
Legal review required: the licence, removal and backup provisions, moral rights, contract formation and capacity, liability wording and applicable Canadian provincial law require review by qualified counsel before launch. No province, business address, dispute venue or compliance certification is asserted.
